Welcome to Sunika. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with our iOS application (“App”).

Sunika is a Mobile Money (MoMo) USSD transaction utility that provides a modern interface for initiating USSD transactions, selecting contacts as recipients, entering amounts, viewing estimated fees, and tracking spending history. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers.

Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect:

• Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
• Device identifiers or advertising IDs
• Location data
• Usage analytics or behavioral data
• Financial or payment information
• Health or fitness data

The App accesses your device contacts locally to let you select transaction recipients. Contact data is read-only and is never transmitted off your device.

How the App Works

Sunika operates entirely on your device. The App:

• Generates USSD codes based on the transaction details you enter (recipient, amount, transaction type)
• Initiates USSD calls through your device’s phone dialer — the actual transaction is processed by your mobile network operator, not by Sunika
• Stores your transaction history, spending categories, and fee schedules locally in a SQLite database on your device
• Does not transmit any of this data to our servers or any third parties

We have no servers, no user accounts, and no backend infrastructure that handles your personal information.

Device Permissions

Sunika requests the following device permissions:

• Contacts — Used to select recipients for Mobile Money transactions. Contact data is accessed read-only and remains on your device. It is never uploaded or shared.
• Phone / Dialer — Used to initiate USSD codes through your device’s phone dialer. This is how Mobile Money transactions are executed by your mobile network operator.

Third-Party Services

The App does not integrate with third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. We do not use:

• Crash reporting services that transmit device data
• Advertising networks
• Social media SDKs
• Analytics platforms

Data Security

All app data — including transaction history, categories, and fee schedules — is stored in a local SQLite database on your device, protected by iOS’s built-in sandboxing and security features. Since we do not collect or transmit your data, there is no risk of a data breach from our end.

Children’s Privacy

Our App does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13 years of age. Since we collect no personal information from any users, this applies universally.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

Agreement to Terms

By downloading or using the Sunika iOS application (“App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.

Sunika is a utility that provides a user interface for initiating Mobile Money USSD transactions and tracking spending. The App does not process payments directly — it generates USSD codes that are executed by your device’s phone dialer through your mobile network operator.

Use of the App

Sunika grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your personal, non-commercial purposes.

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse engineer or decompile any part of the App
• Use the App in any manner that could disable, overburden, or impair its functionality
• Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels on the App

Intellectual Property

The App and all its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Sunika and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

• The App will function uninterrupted or error-free
• Any errors or defects will be corrected
• The App is free of viruses or other harmful components
• The results obtained from using the App will be accurate or reliable

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sunika shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the App.

Financial Disclaimer

Sunika is a utility interface and does not process, hold, or transfer funds. All transactions are executed by your mobile network operator via USSD. Sunika is not a bank, payment processor, or licensed financial institution. Transaction fees, processing times, and success are determined entirely by your operator. We are not responsible for failed, delayed, or incorrect transactions initiated through USSD codes.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will indicate changes by updating the “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the App after such modifications constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App immediately, without prior notice, if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the App will immediately cease.
